Post Trauma Support

The latest HSE recommendations place responsibility on employers to provide proper aftercare to minimise and control the emotional impact upon staff and speed their recovery from traumatic incidents in the workplace.

Crisis Management Response Ltd provides an on-call counselling service to support the staff of organisations caught up in such incidents. Our telephone lines are manned from 6am until 11pm every day and the service guarantees a fast response 365 days a year.

Crisis Management Response Ltd will send a Consultant, on-site, to provide face to face counselling for all the staff in organisations subjected to a traumatic incident. The Consultant attends the location within 24 - 72 hours of the incident taking place. This is generally regarded as the therapeutic window to begin the recovery process. The Consultant will make repeat visits to the location according to the needs of the staff and the strategy agreed with the organisation.

Our qualified Consultants have specialised in this type of work for many years and have successfully counselled several thousand individuals involved in a wide variety of traumatic incidents.

A written report is supplied after every assignment detailing organisational issues, but no personal details, to enable the organisation to improve its future response and strategy.

Benefits

Providing external counselling for staff caught up in traumatic incidents has the following benefits:

  • Staff are assured that all personal issues are treated in absolute confidentiality. Many sensitive issues arising after an incident are never disclosed to anyone within the organisation and may go untreated.
  • The service is available at short notice with a guaranteed response. It does not depend upon the availability of persons within the organisation.
  • Our Consultants attend a high number of incidents within a wide variety of organisations. They are able to bring a high level of skill and experience in resolving each incident. Our Consultants receive supervision and case support for their work via an independent supervisor.
  • The intervention is cost effective and short term. It does not tie up in-house resources which, in practice, is seldom accurately costed.
  • Crisis Management Response Ltd provides a report on every incident and can implement regular review.
